What’s next for WizardShell? 2023 has definitively been my most exciting year to date!
In the past six months, I’ve changed jobs, traveled, and started several hobbies. Earlier this year, I made a goal to make a website and publish articles to it weekly, creating WizardShell. Initially, I wanted to make a “PowerShell for Dummies” but would also like to hold complex, specific solutions that may not be documented elsewhere. It’s surprising how difficult it is to create content with varying levels of inspiration and free time. I’m proud to say there are between 5-20 unique IPs that regularly visit this website, which have come here from a web search or word-of-mouth. I’ve even had representatives from EdTech reach out about partnerships developing or selling courses. I would consider this a fruitful project, because I am doing no analytics, demographic focus, advertising, or maintaining best practices. It also tests discipline to have to deliver something every week.
I’ve got a lot of pans in the fire and want to take some time to focus on other things. I’d like to organize and backup my digital documents, work on music, volunteer as a non-profit organization’s Webmaster, and complete some continuing education I’ve put on the backburner for a few years. If I get a lot of free time, I may integrate OpenEdx with this website and create an e-learning offering. I’d love to have a one-stop shop to store my entire brain. While my current business function is no longer coding, I still frequently reverse-engineer applications and employ scripting. I still have a large repository of snippets and will add posts on a slower cadence, possibly once a month.
Of course, a post like this may be the death rattle of most independent blogs.
I will still be monitoring my inbox at contact@wizardshell.com is always open. If you’d like updates whenever WizardShell has new content, you can subscribe to the RSS Feed.
